Section 4. History of the creation of information technologies and their use in management and economics tasks

The organization of sessions of section 4 is carried out in close cooperation with the Council of the Virtual computer Museum under the leadership of its Director E. M. Prokhodakov We are planning to make an attempt to recreate some pages of the history of development of Russian electronic computers, programming, operating systems, algorithmic languages, systems of organization and methods of data processing, and applied software and technical complexes for defense and civil purposes based on the archival and published documents, research reports, scientific articles and monographs, design documentation, materials from museums, etc. Special attention will be paid to the history of creation and use of economic information search systems and automated management systems of various levels and purposes. Currently, the work on this area of the national history of science and technology is only isolated and fragmentary.
